Administration’s Announcement to Re-Assess & Re-Interview Resettled Refugees is Damaging, Wasteful, & Affront to Americans

"For an administration concerned with waste, fraud, and abuse, using federal resources to re-assess and re-interview more than 200,000 vetted, resettled refugees who have started to rebuild their lives here is not only incredibly hypocritical, it is an affront to all Americans whose tax dollars will be used towards this effort," said Kate Brick, Executive Director of the Refugee Advocacy Lab. "It is damaging to hardworking refugees and their families, and it further upends thousands of communities nationwide who have welcomed refugees and other newcomers into their social and economic fabric."

Ways To Get Involved:

Contact your national, state, and local elected leaders and remind them that we want to welcome refugees, regardless of their country of origin, race, or faith tradition.

Share new data that shows how this review goes directly against the will of the American people. New polling found that a strong majority of U.S. voters support refugee resettlement across party lines. The data also showed a consistent finding that when someone personally knows a refugee, they are significantly more likely to support refugee resettlement by 15 points.
